Light Tower Down at Town. Future Still Bright

A light tower at Dick Casey’s Dorchester Town Field fell over during high winds in February, 2016.

Thankfully it fell towards the field, damaging only the batting cage, and no homes or people. It happened at night and no one was hurt.

Due to the age and condition of the other 7 light towers, the City plans to remove and replace them.

The BPL will not schedule any games at Town Field for the 2016 season until the field is deemed safe to play.

A new infield was installed in 2015, and only became playable at the end of the season.

Town Field has been the hub of the Park League since it’s inception 88 years ago.
