2007 Tournament Recap
THE DICK CLEGG - HOWIE STEIN MEMORIAL GOLF TOURNAMENT
Sponsored by the Boston Park League
The Eighth Annual Dick Clegg - Howie Stein Memorial Golf Tournament was held on Monday, July 30th, 2007 at the Easton Country Club, 265 Purchase St. Easton, Ma. 02375.
A shotgun start, Florida style best ball format was used. 67 golfers participated. We had a mixture of present league players, former players, and friends of the Park League. Heavy rain showers began around 6:00 a.m. and continued for the next two hours. With a contracted guarantee of 64 golfers, we were not sure if the weather would discourage them from attending the annual outing. To their credit, they started showing up shortly after the rain stopped and honored their committment to participate.
The course was wet, which probably contributed to better scores. The winning team (listed below) posted the best score since 1996, when we began hosting the tournament.
The Park League wishes to thank the Easton CC and the Lombardi Family for their cooperation & assistance, in making the tournament a success. We also thank our sponsors (listed below) who continue to support the league, year in and year out.
